This is the opposite of the problem I had when I started Continental. I would try to change the way that you're controlling the tension. In other words, wrap the yarn around different fingers than you have been doing. I wrap the yarn once around my pinky finger. Good luck.

I find that my tension was too loose at first, so I wrapped the yarn around my hand once. Sometimes, with some yarns, it's still too loose, so I'll wrap it around my hand and then around my pinky. Sometimes, it's too tight, so I just wrap around my pinky or not at all.
