Finger weight yarn and Silver Tutorial.
I want to try the Two toe up socks on one circular needle, the tutorial that silver has up (i've done the one with 4 dpns) and I have some knitpicks finger weight yarn I'd like to try it with. Has anyone done it with finger weight instead of worested weight that might be able to help me figure out how many need to be casted on and such?

I just thought I'd ask since this will only be my 3rd of 4th pair of socks and I'm still "new". Thanks if anyone can help me out

~danielle~

PS IS there any good tutorials for 2 circs anyone has tried yet? That's my next thought

I just made my first pair of toe up socks. I used a specific pattern for a more complex sock, but the stitch count should help you out and I used fingering weight yarn. I used a size 1 (US) needle. My gauge was approximately 32sts/4".

I cast on 24 stitches total, so that would be 12 stitches over each of your two needles if using magic loop. Increase in the same manner that Silver describes, to a grand total of 64 stitches.

When you get to the heel, use half (32) of the stitches and follow the same instructions for the short row heel as Silver describes, but you'll go until you've wrapped 9 stitches on each side and have 14 unwrapped stitches in between.

The rest should be fairly straight forward, finishing off the heel and the leg, complete with a loose bind off at the top.

Good luck!! Shout back if you have any more questions.
