knitted quilt?
is there a way I can just knit like knitted squares, and eventually combine them?

Definitely! You can knit squares or long strips or anything really, and then seam them up later. There are videos on the site on different types of seams (like mattress) and I'm sure you can also google tutorials.

If you do knit squares though, make sure that each one is the same size so that it's easier to seam and doesn't bunch.

(Also, I love your icon! Even if it's sort of sad.)
