What is it exactly? I keep on hearing it, but I never know what these people are talking about?! Can anyone explain?
Whatever it is, can I be a part of it? If I can and if it's free.

I don't think there is an age requirement associated with Ravelry, but I'm not sure. As far as I know anyone can join.
There are tons of posts about Ravelry in the General Forum mostly. Either click on search and type in Ravelry or just scroll through a couple pages for lots of posts about it.
