The Sweater Workshop -- sampler
I am working on the sweater sampler (worked in the round) from J. Fee's book "The Sweater Workshop." I'm having problems with the Cardigan Border. I start out with the working yarn in my left hand, per directions, and I have cast on 6 stitches. I am then confused as to how to do the following instructions:

"Purl the 6 cast-on stitches and all the others around to the opening you have created".

Is this with the working yarn still in my left hand?

It does not say to turn your work until after the above instructions. As I read on I am further confused as to how to work the border back and forth over those 6 stitches.

Any help from anyone who has done this sampler would be greatly appreciated! I really would like to complete this.

Thanks,

Jaye

I have not yet started the Sweater Sampler but it is one of the October projects of the Elizabeth Zimmerman's Almanac group on Yahoo. The group is organized by Kelley Petkun, owner of Knitpicks and many of the members are working on the sampler right now.

You can join the group, work on your sampler and ask as many questions as you like.

There's a link to join the group on Kelley's blog page here where it says Elizabeth's Year Knitalong.

Hope you find some help there!

Best,
Susan
