Stitches stretching out when knitting Continental
This question was inspired by PlayboyMommy, actually, who was asking why her stitches would get longer and more spaced out as she knitted along. It turned out that was a matter of changing her cast-on to long-tail.

The thing is, I do cast on with long tail and my stitches continue to do this stretching, increasing space between stitches thing. I do get the right number of stitches, but somehow when I'm knitting continental, it just stretches and spaces. I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong

I can't think why. Do you have a picture? Might be easier to figure out if we could see what you do.

Are they different when you are just doing all knit stitches, or when you are doing knit and purl? I had that problem when I did stockinette because doing my purls used so much more yarn, I knit continental also.

Actually, it seems to be only when I knit continental. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how to transfer photos from my digital camera to the computer...
