Best scarf for a "manly man"?

I've been steadily working on a Palindrome scarf for my MIL... hubby saw it and said "Oooooo, that's niiiiiiice". MIL's scarf is in SWS Natural Violet and it's striping SO nicely

Anyway, DH hinted that he would love a nice warm scarf for Christmas. So I went to Michael's today and picked up 5 skeins of Bernat's Cashmere Blend in a dark chocolatey brown. I'm just not sure if the Palindrome scarf is "manly" enough... Does anyone know of anymore scarf patterns that are nice and manly?

Palindrome or Irish Hiking Scarf - or some variation thereof is my suggestion. Simple, manly, straightforward.

I'm making the Men's Cashmere Scarf for my hubby from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. It's a manly scarf. They also have another manly scarf in pattern in that book too.

i like the yarn harlot's one-row handspun scarf. the rainy day scarf is also good. as with any scarf for a man, you just have to make sure you use manly-colored yarn.

I made the Seamans Scarf, off of the KnitPicks website, for my son a couple years back. Also made it in chocolate brown. He loved/loves it.

I second this opinion. Manly yes, but WE like it too! Either are so easy to knit but the Palindrome is totally reversible which it the plus for manly men!
