I'ma little bit stuck

This is my first real post in the forum

I signed up a while ago when I got majorly into knitting. I knew I'd need help, and now, here I am!

This is my first time making something that isn't a square. I'm knitting a ribbed cardigan that is apparently easy knitting. So far, so good. However, I've gotten stuck on one part of the pattern.

It says:

Dec one st at beg (armhole edge) of next and foll alt rows 5 times in all. AT THE SAME TIME dec one st at front edge (as before) in 12th row from previous dec, 3 times.

The first part, no sweat. I just really don't understand the at the same time part.

Sounds like you're knitting the front of a cardigan. You've already been shaping the front/neck edge, now you'll begin to do the shaping for the armholes too. So at one end of the row you dec a st every other row 5 times total, and at the other end you'll keep decreasing on every 12th row. You'll just have to pay attention to the row count on both ends.
