how to YO
my pattern (which is a lacework pattern and in a chart format) says to YO. This is in one of the little boxes of my chart. Does that mean I want to just do the YO, or knit a stitch, then do it. Thanks!

Just do the YO for the stitch in the box. Your chart shows what the row will look like when you're done.

A YO is just wrapping the yarn around the needle; it does not include knitting another st.
