Good News - Bad News

Good News...
My mom came over to take me shopping for new clothes for my birthday.

Bad News...
I learned I went up one pant size.

Good News...
I now have free membership to my local health gym.

Bad News...
I have a pinched nerve and can't exercise. See above.

Good News...
Finished one fingerless glove that ds wanted.

Bad News...
DS took one look and said Ummm... I don't think I can wear these in front of my friends.

Good News...
Finished both my dd legwarmers that I had to frog three times till I got it right.

Bad News...
DD says it is too warm now to wear them.


Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

and my mothers too !! She is a sewer and growing up she always tried to replicate the "cool" clothes I wanted and I never quite took to them the way she hoped I would.

Let's see...I made the hubby a pair of socks (after he begged for months) and "they're awful bulky", made him a scarf "well, I thought it be more like...." then made him another scarf that appears to be perfection and "well, it's a warm winter I really don't need it."
And as for pants size ... good heavens my size changes daily and with the brand and color of pants I buy. Seriously, I have 3 different sizes from NY&Co that all fit the same. Women's sizes are a crock. Go by how wonderful you look in the mirror

Boy, that's the truth. One store, you're one size, another store, you're 2 sizes bigger.

Good news:
Boyfriend will be working on Saturday so will be out of my hair all day!

Bad News:
He is dropping his car off to be inspected Friday night, so will have to take mine to work on Saturday, which means I won't be able to go to the yarn store.

Good News:
While he has my car, he will be getting the oil changed for me.

Bad News:
Bent down to tie my shoe this morning, and split my JEANS wide open.

Good News:
I finally got a tread mill a few months ago, and it works great.

Bad News:
I already broke my New Years Resolution to get into shape and haven't used the treadmill since January. Otherwise I probably would not have split my jeans open.

Good News:
I finally finished the baby blanket I was making for a friend.

Extremely Bad News:
We found out at work today, that one of our co-workers has terminal cancer and only has a few weeks left. I was just talking and laughing with her two weeks ago right before her doctor appointment. It is in her bones, liver and most other organs. She is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I can't believe she won't be back.

Good news, but not really:
She is going fast, and won't have to suffer long.

Wow.. sorry to put a damper on the good news/bad news game... I've been trying not to cry all day, and am starting to lose it.

Good News:
My new glasses look fabulous on me.

Bad News:
They sit weird on my nose and give me a headache.

Good News:
I finished the cutest purse yesterday and I LOVE it.

Bad News:
It's for etsy. And I made dh promise to make me SELL the things I make for etsy and not keep them. He is following through on his promise, darn it.

Good News:
My dh brought me breakfast this morning (a sausage egg muffin, hot chocolate AND a doughnut).

Bad News:
I'm kind of trying to get in shape here. Any shape but round.

Good News:
I get paid today.

Bad News:
My check is already spent.

Book arrived in the mail today

Mail doesn't arrive till almost noon

Just have a commission to knit a blanket in the same pattern

I'm halfway done with both of my crazy socks!

Bad News:
I just discovered that the toe section has an extra row or two and I added a row on one of the pattern strips

Good News:
I bought some beautiful Berroco Alpaca to make a scarf

Bad News:
I think even this might be too itchy for me. :(

Good News:
I finally got prescription glasses

Bad News:
They make me see double after a few hours of wearing them!

I had a good hair and makeup day, so I made an appointment to renew my drivers license.

Bad News:
The DMV was having technical difficulties, so I have to wait for another day.
