Knitting Inside Out

So once again, I'm working on this bag. It's going to have fibonacci striping. I finished the bottom and then picked up stitches all around the edges. So now my circular needle is packed with stitches. I began knitting.

I suddenly noticed I am knitting inside out! Now, for a bag, I don't think this is that big of a deal since I can just flip the fabric around when I'm done. But what about the striping? Will that make it look messy when I flip it around?

And oh, I do not want to have to start this over. 36 rows of garter stitch wasn't too fun the first time.

Are you knitting on the wrong side of the circle? That typically happens when you knit on the side of your needles away from you. If you think of the circle as a cup, you should be knitting on the side you'd drink from. You can flip it inside out now, and start from where you are in the right way....or wait till you're done. I don't think it will mess up the stripes, but you may have to weave in end carefully, or pull them through to the other side when you're done.

It should look fine, it's just the back side of what you're knitting as you look at it, and it will be on the inside when you're done. Just flip it right side out and continue.

Ah, cool. I flipped it, so now I have one tail on the outside, which I'll just pull inside and weave in.
