Help with chevron lace pattern
I am so wanted to start these chevron lace socks before leaving on 9 hr drive tomorrow...it says knit into back of st below first st on left needle, knit first st on left needle, knit into back of same st below needle again... this is not working out for me - I'm missing something.

Anyone know how to explain it better?

go to top of this page.

find knitting help on increases

find KLL and KRL increase. (the third 'diamond' from the top (of 7) )

view video's for these increase.

Like all too many things in knitting, this increase has several names (i know it a raised increase) --your pattern may or may not have given a name to this increase (or just directions)--NO matter... What ever you call it, its the one you want!

its a very attractive increase the KLL is easy, the KRL is a bit trickier, but not really hard.

OF TROY you're awesome - so I watched the videos and so am I right that I am doing a KRL and without taking the KRL stitch off the needle I am doing the KLL? My pattern is from Ann Budd's knitting socks book and she does not name the increase at all.

The patterns I've heard about just describe the inc, they don't have a name for it. You do the KRL, knit the stitch and put it on the right needle, then do the KLL from that.

I just saw this, and that is not correct. The KLL is done in the st 2 rows below the one you just did on the right needle, the KRL is done in the st below the next one on your left needle. You don't do them in the same stitch.
