Is it possible?

To join the side of a piece to a top or bottom of another? Would it be strong?

I ask because I'm making a market bag. I've only ever knit flat stuff before, and even then I barely know what I'm doing. I taught myself not too long ago (source: some website), and their videos weren't terribly helpful....and some weren't even there. Not like this site which has the best videos and explanations - ever!

Yes it is possible to join two pieces together, whatever the shape. Of course, there are different techniques of joining. With this being crochet, I generally use the whip stitch, but there's also a certain way to join the pieces so that it matches.

Do you have a link to the pattern so we can help determine what join would be appropriate?

Awesome, thank you so much! It wasn't quite what I was looking for but it definitely helps tremendously. I think I'll use the slip stitch method in a contrasting color....

No, I don't have a pattern. I'm still used to reading knitting patterns so to me it looks like a foreign language. I'm making this up as I go along. I don't know what I'm doing, honestly. lol. But I'm having fun and I know I'll be happy with it whether it turns out crappy or awesome
