ISO Mittern pattern - easy
Hi there,

This is my first post after using this site to learn to knit...it's great

I'm in search of a very easy free 2-needle knitting pattern for mittens for my 2 year old daughter. I can cast on, knit, purl and cast off, and can yo and K2tog. Most patterns that I have found are for dpns, which I haven't got, and seem really complicated. Can anyone help?

Many thanks :D

Here's a link to the patterns I've been using for years:

You'll love it here! There's so much to explore and see.
Here's some New Year's fun.

At the top of this page click on the PATTERNS tab.

Scroll down to find Knits for Kids.

That'll take you to mittens.
Look for Bev's 2 needle mittens.

Personally, I don't enjoy knitting with DPNs, so I've used a pattern like this for many years.
I do garter stitch (knit every row) instead of stockinette stitch (alternating K and P rows) and I always knit the thumb with the smaller needles.

HAVE FUN!

Thanks so much for the links to the mittens. I've just learned to knit and while I'm fairly comfortable with the basics, and have even been doing cabling, I am daunted by the idea of mittens and socks!
