knitting with mohair

I am attempting to knit a shawl with mohair and it is giving me fits! I chose a really easy lace pattern, but I can't seem to do the YO, ssk,. I have trouble keeping the YO in place while I do the ssk. Maybe I just need to practice. I just frogged everything I had knit so far because it just was a mess! I love the look and the feel of the mohair...but not sure I will ever master knitting with it..

Try the pattern for a little bit on smooth worsted yarn on larger needles. It may be the pattern sequence that you're not used to and practicing it on other yarn might help you.
