I am knitting these (scroll down just a bit) out of KP's Swish (superwash merino) in black. I want to overdye them with either purple or red. Should I soak/block them before I overdye, or just soak them in preparation to overdye? Can I do both at once, or should I do one at a time?
TIA!

Just curious, since I haven't done any dyeing (except for boiling some white mitts in Red Zinger tea):How well will red or purple show up on black yarn?
Cyndi, that's what I figured, but then my overactive brain thought, "But what if one mitt gets selfish and starts soaking up all the dye and not sharing with the other mitt?" Together makes more sense, though.

knitasha, it would be very, very dark. This will be my first time as I'm just starting my foray into the world of acid dying, so pretty much everything I'm doing at this point is a first for me. Now I'm actually thinking about what fuschia might do. I need to mix up some stock first though to see what color fuschia is exactly. I think the word fuschia could probably be used to describe about 20 different colors. Don't worry, I'll definitely be posting pictures when I'm done.
