beginners question; ran out of yarn
hello,
i'm new to knitting and this website, but i'm glad to have found them both. Thank you for reading my post.

my first knitting project is a scarf that i'm making. i am using the knit stitch from start to finish, but i have ran out of my ball of yarn and need to introduce a new skein (i think this is the right terminology). Would anyone be willing to tell me how i do this? should i just tie the yarn to the tail left on my scarf. is there a term that i should know for this?

Thank you,
Julie

Just start knitting with the new skein. You can tie the ends together loosely and then weave them in later.
