vestbular syndrome in older dogs.. help
our 8.5 yr old English Mastiff had a stroke like attack 5/18.. it affected her face and balance it seems. at first she couldn't eat or drink on her own. she couldn't even sit up. her eyes darted but she couldn't focus. now she can sit up but slides down, can eat & drink... she is at vets since the episode.... anyone have any info and hints on how lonf this may impede her mobility?

There's a website called Dr Foster and Smith I believe. Just type that in your search. There may be some info on there. Good Luck!

Hi there, I am so sorry to hear about your poor pup. I have a website I frequent when I have a question about an illness in our 'kids'. I hope it helps.

This first link is the info on Vestibular Disease. People post questions to the vet and he answers them. I'm not certain if any will help your situation, but I had to try and help you the best way I could.

The second link is their main website. On the top left corner you'll see Vet info for cats and Vet info for Dogs. Those are the pages you go to to see which illness you'd like info on. There's a ton of information on this website. Good luck and I hope your pup feels better very soon.
