Is it me or the numbers aren't adding up on this pattern? HELP!

I'm trying to figure out the math in this pattern but it isn't equaling up. Help please. This is the pattern I am using.

Bunny inside ears
Beg at base: Using 3.25mm needles CC, knit up 8 sts evenly between side edge of instep and central marker.
Work 3 rows stocking st on these 8 sts, beg with a purl row (1st row is wrong side).
Beg shaping: **1st row: K2, inc in next st, K2..10sts. This I took at K2 increase and knit till there are two stitches left and increase and knit last two stitches to = 10 sts.
2nd and foll alt rows: Purl.
3rd row: K2, inc in next st K4, inc in nest st, K2…12sts.
5th row: Knit.
7th row: K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K6, K2tog, K1….10 sts. This is where I'm getting stuck because after the next six knits I have one stich left and can't knit two together. Or am I reading it wrong.
9th row: K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K4, K2tog, K1….8sts.
11th row: K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K2, K2tog, K1….6sts.
12th row: (P2tog) 3 times.. 3sts.
Break off yarn, thread through rem sts, draw up and fasten off securely.** Work other inside ear to correspond, knitting up sts from central market to other side edge of instep.

7th row: K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K6, K2tog, K1….10 sts. This is where I'm getting stuck because after the next six knits I have one stich left and can't knit two together. Or am I reading it wrong.

Another way of putting that row would be:
7th row: K1, skpo, K6, K2tog, K1.

So you start off with 12 sts, Knit the 1st st, slip the 2nd st, Knit the 3rd st, pass the 2nd st over the 3rd st, Knit the next 6 st (which would be sts 4-9 of the original 12 sts), Knit 2 together (sts 10 & 11), Knit 1.

First row - K2 increase into next stitch (9)K2 increase into next stitch(10)
Purl
K2 increase into next stitch(11)K4 increase into next stitch(12)
Purl
Kl slip one, pass the slip sts over. K6 (3 sts should remain)
Purl
K1 slip one, pass the slip sts over. K4 (3 sts should remain)

Basically you are decreasing one stitch at the beg & one stitch at the end.

Thanks k2p263, didn't see your answer. I got the rest just a tad still confused if I did Row 1 right.

So is it like I wrote before, it would be K2 incrase and knit to last two, increase and knit the last two?

Sorry I wasn't very clear. These patterns should tell you to repeat a process sometimes.

So knit two stitches - increase in the next stitch now you've got 9 stitches, knit the next two stitches and (repeat ) increase into the next stitch now you should have 10. Increasing & decreasing in patterns is usually done evenly on a row so the finished garment has gradual shaping.

But if I start with 8 stitch and increase after each two knits I wouldn't end up with 10 stitch, I would have 12 instead.
