Another way of putting that row would be:
7th row: K1, skpo, K6, K2tog, K1.
So you start off with 12 sts, Knit the 1st st, slip the 2nd st, Knit the 3rd st, pass the 2nd st over the 3rd st, Knit the next 6 st (which would be sts 4-9 of the original 12 sts), Knit 2 together (sts 10 & 11), Knit 1.
