Thanks for all the great feedback everyone!!! It's so nice to hear from fellow knitters...don't get me wrong, my family and my boyf are very supportive, but when I show them a WIP, their reactions are a bit lackluster in comparison to you guys.
I feel you! I'm working on a cable project myself that is my first and when I completed the first round of the pattern, I was so excited! But. . .no one else was as thrilled as I was!
When I read your decription I thought maybe you meant 18 one inch strands of fringe, but I see from your pattern that the strands or fringe are actually 18 inches long. That is a lot of bead stringing. :-) But a 10 year old girl should love all those beads. She should feel very groovy wearing that.
