First Hat :^) and a Garter Stitch Scarf
I just finished my first hat It was supposed to be a Christmas present for my sil but a few unexpected events threw the entire holiday season off. I just gave it to her earlier this week and she loves it.

I also made a simple garter stitch scarf for my cousin in VIrigina with some yarn my son got me for Christmas a while ago. I'm new to knitting and am now experimenting with different types of stitches. More pics of my new projects will come soon

Very nice job on both! Welcome to our world! You're in for a lot of fun as you discover just what you can do with a few other types of stitches in a pattern!

Thanks everyone! I was really proud of myself when I finished the hat. It looks cuter on than it does in pictures. Its just a beginners pattern I got from LionBrand, but I think for a first try it came out pretty good

For the hat I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick in charcoal. For the scarf I used 1 strand of Patons Peruvian wool - I think the color was lemongrass, but I can't remember. I also used 1 strand of a yarn that my son bought me, but I can't remember the name . . . sorry
