Glass Knitting Needles
Hi, does anybody know where to get glass knitting needles? Oh, and does anybody know if they're any good? Like is there something that you don't like about them?

They do look cool and I'm sure they're tempered or something to make them strong. I hope so!

Well most of the ones I read about are made with Pyrex and they say it's very durable . . . but I'm still scared to break 'em lol. The cheapest ones I found were fifteen dollars (don't know about the shipping though) on sale. I'm dying to get a pair but I have to wait for the money .

I've been looking at these. I don't want to knit with them. I just want to buy them so I can look at them!

I have 3 pair that I got on Ebay a couple years ago. I just had them out for "show and tell" at my weekly knitter's meet-up. Mine are made of pyrex (borosilicate I believe). They are pretty sturdy, but I'm sure if I dropped them on a hard floor they'd snap.
I have knit only a tiny bit with them - they are pretty slippery. Some people may not like the rubbing together of glass rods, but it didn't bother me. I got them more for the neato factor and for display 'cuz I'm a goon for tools and gadgets.

That's what I would want them for. I see cool exotic wooden ones and want them for that, too--to put in a vase or something.
