Hi all, I'm a knitter (well I should say I've only been knitting since Dec 07) but a pattern I'm working on calls for some crocheting.

The instructions say to make button loops like so:
"With crochet hook, join one strand of CC in one end of cabled band. Chain for 3", join to cabled band with a sl st. Turn. Work 25 sc's into loop, join with a sl st in cabled band. Fasten off."

My questions are these:

• How do I join a strand of yarn into a knitted piece?

• What does "work 25 sc's into loop mean?

I usually tie on to join, then single crochet over the tail to weave it in as I go.

sc is an abbreviation for single crochet.

So, you would create the chain loop, turn your work and single crochet back.
