For Mother's Day! Please HELP!
I've never crocheted but I have this bag almost completed and don't know what they are asking me to do here, can anyone please help me out.
Belt: I made my chain the intended lenght, then it says: Work 1 sc(single crochet) 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across...I get this, but then it says: work 3 sc's in last chain, 1 sc in eah st of foundation ch to beg. So am I essentially making like an I-cord in knitting?
Thanks to anyone who helps!

mother's day please help
What you are doing is first making a chain. Second single crocheting down the chain. Then making three single crochets to turn the corner of the chain. Then going up the backside or other side of the length of the (strap) or whatever. It would also be how you would start an oblong rug. Then you would continue down the front and the back making the oblong larger and larger. If you were making I-cord you would just make a chain. You wouldn't go back and solidify it or make it larger. JThomas has it correct.

Like a braided rug -- sort of. After making the 3sc turn, you're working on the other side of the beginning chain as in a spiral of sorts.
