IPOD Nano Owners??
Any one own an IPOD Nano? I would like to get one for knitting patterns on the go, but do not know if I can download the patterns to it, and still be able to read them. Please tell me more if you own one, or if you own an MP3 player that allows you to have your knitting patterns with you.

I have an old 2nd Generation iPod Nano. It's taller and skinnier than the current ones. About downloading patterns to it, i really don't know. I don't think you can, because, how could you view them? With an iPod Touch (my dad has it) you might be able to, but probably not with the Nano. Hope this helped!

I have a Nano. I dont know about documents, but if you can make the pattern an image file I know you can do it that way. I don't know if you'd be able to get the image large enough to read it though.

All the ipods, AFAIK, will let you download text files to the "note" application. So if you had text-only instructions you could do that. You could download JPG files to the photo part of it. And newer models will let you do videos.

The screen on a nano is so small, though, I can't imagine reading off of it for any length of time.

If you do go ipod shopping, check out the Apple refurbished store.

For what you want to do I would think a pocket PC would work better as they have larger screens and can handle PDF files as well as images.

Perfection is overrated. Knitting is meant to relieve stress, not cause it. Relax and enjoy it.

I know the iPod Touch can read PDFs too. Nano-wise I dunno.

Knitting_Guy, what is a pocket PC?

Thanks everyone for the information. I am trying to find a gift for myself for Mother's Day and my anniversary, since my husband forgot both of them.

i am not sure about this but I would totally look into a Zune. they have huge screens and I know you can put images on them because my friend bought one with her stimulus check. check them out because they are sweet. I'm going to toss my nano and get one of them! lol
