Yes, they are the "Baby's Denim Drawstring Pants" from Joelle Hoverson's "Last Minute Knitted Gifts", with the recommended yarn in the pattern as the Rowan Denim. I don't have a LYS nearby, and not wanting to take a chance to order yarn without seeing it in person, I used some Caron Simply Soft I had in my stash (color is "dark country blue"). After looking at the other FO's on Ravelry using the Rowan Denim, if I did another pair of these pants, I would try the Rowan...it looks really nice! I'm very happy with the way the Caron Simply Soft turned out, though...the pants have a very nice drape and are very soft. I just knitted to the schematics in the pattern for the "shrunk size". All in all, it was a VERY easy pattern, and the pants are SO adorable! I wound up doing the drawstring instead of the elastic because once I did the elastic, I didn't like how it looked (the casing was too deep I think); if I wanted to use elastic on a future pair, I would probably make the casing more narrow. I posted some
pix on Ravelry of the elastic version and the final finished version with the drawstring.
I know I'm not a very fast knitter, but I didn't think I knitted at a snail's pace; the pants took me about 12 hours from start to finish to do everything for the 3-6 month size--seam, weave in ends, make the i-cord, so that made me feel a bit inadequate since the pattern was in the category of 4-6 hours and it took me double the time for the maximum allowance. It's not a big deal because the shower is a way off yet, but still, I felt kind of crusty that they took me so long. I purposely timed myself though to see how long it would take in case I ever found myself in a last-minute gift scenario so I would have a good idea of how much time I'd need. I'd definitely recommend this pattern, though--a very cute pattern indeed, and not something you typically see or expect when a mom-to-be opens up a gift box of something handmade, you know?
