Morning everyone! I was away last week with DH at our drag racing divisional finals in Reading, PA. We had a fun time, but it rained for most of it. The race was suppose to be on Saturday, but we didn't run until late Sunday and finished up Monday. DH went 2 rounds (he was disappointed he didn't go farther) but the car ran the best/fastest it has all year. I did knit on the way down and back, but there was too much rain and mud during the day that I didn't want to chance getting everything dirty. I'm working on 2 of the Northeast Oddball baby blankets.

Ann~ Sorry to hear about Josh's uncle. I will keep you all in my thoughts.

I am behind about 200 posts on this thread. I'm going to sift through them all to see what's been going on. I'll check back in with you all later!

Good Afternoon socksters!!

Carey~Yeah they do, mom always gets the Fons and Porter quilt magazines...she told me they have a knitting one now...she ordered it but not sure she has gotten it yet or not. I hope you get to enjoy some knitting time tonight and have fun meeting your author

Christine~You have been a busy bee...I'm glad you don't have to frog the socks and that you have a car again!! I hope you feel better

Sue~We are the same way any season change and we have issues...I never had issues till I moved out to the woods (even though in WV I was in the woods) but it's so damp out here or something...JD keeps telling me we need to move for him to be closer and for us to be well...but I hate to give it up ...YUM apple bread and pies...going to Sue's tonight

Gina~If you stick with the pattern will you be happy? If not then I would change it ...Continued prayers for your dad!

Bobbi~I knit usually for those I know will appreciate it and the others get non knitting gifts

Ann~I'm so sorry to read about his passing...continued prayers for the whole family ...I have that hat queued it's so cute! You did a great job and it looks great on you

Tami~I'm glad to see you are still on the planet ...pretty wheel!!

Julie~Very cute cozy! You gotta have a stocking cap done by Saturday?

Lisa~aww I'm sorry he was disappointed with his races...maybe next time he will get to go more rounds. Great to see ya posting

Hi everone!!

Well JD came in yesterday with a flat tire...about the last thing we needed right now...so I took it to the place this morning hoping for a patch but they told me they could but it would be flat on him in no time...so I had to get a new one...then Roo had her story time at the library...the letter today was "n" so they pulled out a "acorn" roo shouts...well yes it an acorn but we though you would say nut...well it's not it's an acorn and squirrels eat them...why yes they do and we have a squirrel right here (pulls stuffed animal out)...*gasp* from Roo it's a dead squirrel!!

I'm going to find my house today we are feeling a bit better...still have an annoying headache...I keep wondering if the school will call after Isaiah's meds run out on him...I'll be glad when this moves outta here ...

I'm still working on the hobo it's taking longer than I thought...

I hope you all have a great day of knitting

Gina hope Dad continues to do good.

Thanks for the compliments on the cozy, it was quick, made it during nap time, so 2 hours or so +/- & then felted it afterwards & it's dry now, so not even 24 hours to dry it.

Dustina the stocking cap for myself before Sat is because we're going to the balloon fiesta & it's cold here in the mornings, currently at 11:15 it's only 64' F. We have to be there about 6am :D

Subject(s): Fiction

Description

Gentle by name, gentle by nature. Everyone in the sleepy Scottish town of Lochdubh adores elderly Mrs. Gentle--everyone but Hamish Macbeth, that is. Hamish thinks the gentle lady is quite sly and vicious, and the citizens of Lochdubh think he is overly cranky. Perhaps it's time for him to get married, they say. But who has time for marriage when there's a murder to be solved? When Mrs. Gentle dies under mysterious circumstances, the town is shocked and outraged. Chief Detective Inspector Blair suspects members of her family, but Hamish Macbeth thinks there's more to the story, and begins investigating the truth behind this lady's gentle exterior.

About the Author

M. C. Beaton writes the Agatha Raisin mystery series and the Hamish Macbeth mysteries as well as an Edwardian mystery series under her real name Marion Chesney. Many of her novels, including Death of a Dreamer and Death of a Village, are available from Sound Library®. She divides her time between the Cotswolds and Paris.

Now I have to find the first 23!

Ann, that hat looks GREAT on you! TOO cute! Sorry about Josh's loss. Give him our best!

Tami, welcome back to the planet! Your yarn sounds yummy!

Julie, Dustina, trust the pattern? I CHANGED the pattern! I just don't know when to leave well enough alone! I started the sleeve with the pattern instead of in stockinette.....Still workin it out!

Julie, cute wine cozy!

Who went to meet Alexander McCall SMith? ALSO ONE OF MY FAVE AUTHORS! LOVE the #1 Lady's Detective Series!

I had lots of time to knit at work today! That's been rare this year! I think I have the sleeve figured out. We'll see. I'm just glad I switched to doing one at a time!

Knitgal: Sorry to hear about Josh’s uncle but he is at peace now.

Gina: I will email the apple bread recipe if you would like it. It came from another forum that I read occasionally.

Dustina: Hope you will all feel better soon. I have been taking Tylenol Sinus for 2 days and my head has been feeling a bit better. I just hate headaches every day.

Lisa: Nice to see you posting again

Julie: The wine cozy is pretty.

Christine: Glad you have your car back.

Hi everyone

I went to a tv show taping today. It was fun and they always give gifts to the audience. Later I did a few rows of my Lucy bag. I am at the strap part now . I am also making a snowman dishcloth for a friend. I just cannot seem to get inspired by my socks at the moment. I must get back to it as I have about 16 skeins of sock yarn in my stash not counting the half finished ones. Actually I don't think I have seen anyone post socks for a while.
