Yarn sub?
Any good yarn substitutes for Debbie Bliss' Cotton Denim Aran yarn? It's a worsted weight yarn, 18 sts / 4" with a size 7 (4.5mm) needle, 100% cotton yarn. I'm hoping for something with more yardage per skein so I don't have to buy a ton of skeins to make a sweater.

I tried looking in ravelry yarn search but there are 258 yarns in worsted cottons. I can't filter by gauge and yardage so flicking through most seemed to be 16 or 20, maybe you should buy something close enough and swatch to adjust your pattern to suit because you might not knit it to the "required" tension anyway. Blue Sky Alpacas is 150 yards to 100g and is 16-20 st/4", dunno how much it costs!

I just can't see seaming in all those ends--yuck! Not to mention spending $154 for cotton yarn. I mean, it's not like it's some rare, unavailable or luxury fiber here...we're not talking cashmere or silk, you know???

yeah it's pretty hard to search for something with longer yardage, most seem to be in wee small balls and I don't know many American brands so I don't know what they cost, but I'm guessing the organic stuff is pricier!

KnitPicks carries some cotton worsted yarns. I think the yardage is about the same, but it costs a lot less, and comes in some lovely colors.
