knitting machine

Hi,

A friend of mine gave me her 1974 Singer knitting machine, and I have spent the past week pulling my hair out trying to understand it. Basically I don't know how to set up, it's as simple as that (I wished).
I would soo much appreciate if you could give me info or advice on how to use this machine.

I would go online and just type in the name brand and see if there are any instructions. If it was made way back then...it might be tough.
