Here's what I am making for my Dad and his wife for their cabin...a no sew fleece blanket - from this pattern:

If you find fleece on sale (and it usually is this time of year), you can make a blanket without a lot of cost.

Mine has a Nordic pattern on one side and a matching blue solid for the other side.
