Looking For Easy Triangle Shawl beginner level

I have some alpaca and would like to make a shawl. I have never done lace but if I could find an easy pattern I would give it a try.I have ten skeins each aprox.118 yards. Would that be enough to make a shawl?

Any ideas?

this something I'd like to one day make. But this doesn't look like something for a beginner.

That would be enough for most shawls. The Feather and Fan pattern is fairly easy - 1 pattern row out of 4, the others are either knit or purl rows. Any of them can be made in any weight yarn, usually you use a needle about 3-4 sizes larger than you would normally knit it with.

I just finished the Lion Brand "Easy Triangle Shawl" ... below is the link to the post if you'd like to see it. I think it would work with your yarn beautifully, and the pattern was pretty straightforward.

if I go with the Diagonal Dishcloth pattern , what size needles would I use ? My yarn that I am using is alpaca and the label doesn't give any gauge or needle size ,just that it is 118 yards,50grs, 0.110lbs. It's Peru4less 100% alpaca.

I tried size 13 , but it seems very loose.Will it work on that size? Or do I need smaller needles?

Googling the yarn (always an idea when you don't know anything about one) turns up that the label gauge would be on size 7s, so you could go up to a 9 or 10.

That is the correct link above, and yes, you do need to sign up, but it is free. I definitely think a beginner can make this shawl. You just need to concentrate carefully on the pattern (especially the increases/decreases...they're not difficult, they just require concentration). It helped me to count after every row to make sure I always had equal number of stitches on each side of the stitch marker. Good luck!!
