I'm afraid I'll have to drop out (before I'm even started). I haven't got enough time for such a large project and I won't be ready before the end of this year. The blanket will happen eventually, but I'm afraid not yet. Have fun with this KAL.

I haven't even had time to sort through my yarn yet and I'll be gone over the weekend. I'll get a late start, but better late than never.

Lieke..there are no rules about this. If it takes you two years that's fine, too.

Oh goodie, I don't have much time with two toddlers haha ages 2 & 4 they suck the energy outa me haha.

I'd love to join this KAL. I've never done log cabin before or participated in a KAL so this is a 2 for 1 for me!

I think I'm going to do the regular log cabin with the center block and surrounding strips. I've only been knitting for about 6 months so not much of a stash here. I do have some Vanna's Choice and Caron's Simply Soft I can use to start one with. Don't know how long it'll take me to get one done though. I homeschool my kids and we're getting ready to start up again, so I can only knit here and there. But this actually seems like a great project for that.

I love the Modern Log Cabin, but don't have nice coordinating yarn for it. I figure with the strips I can just grab a color and go, because none of my yarns seem to match! Should be a rather interesting blanket indeed! I'll either give it to my kids or my mom. Kids and parents are obligated to like whatever "ugly" things I make!

I wonder if a crochet blanket would be allowed? I have a lot of Caron one pounder and would love to use it up but think I'll do better with crochet afghan.

I've just started a log cabin blanket, not following a pattern or anything, just making it up as I go along. Hopefully a KAL will give me the push I need to keep going.

I decided to start a small sample just to make sure I understand how to do it and I have a question about picking up the stitches. I have no problem on the side where I slip the first and purl the last stitches, but when I get to a bind off side it's really difficult for me to pick up stitches. Are there any tips to make this easier? Could I bind off with a larger needle? TIA for any suggestions!
