Congrats on your first pair of socks! They look wonderful, as you do more socks you will find the perfect toe for you and heel...

Thanks everyone for your replies!!! I'm going to play around with them a little. I think I'm going to try a smaller size next time. I wore my new socks yesterday and they are really loose and a little too long too. I'd like to have them be rather snug. I'm also going to try a smaller needle, like a 3 or a 2 maybe even to make the stitches tighter. I'll have to see what kind of gauge I get and go from there I guess.

On the Needles: crosshatch lace socks for me, basic socks for DH

On the Hook: Homespun Waterfall Afghan for me, then an afghan for son and Mom

Nice socks! The shaped toes are cool. Good job.

Some info about me
Hi I live in Indiana and wonder if there's anyone in In that knows of some knitting clubs or classes??
I've taught myself to knit and really love it. I found a library book titled Big Needle Knitting and it features the cheap yarn you can buy at Big Lots and Dollar Tree and I don't know if you all are like me but I get tired of buying yarn and the next pattern requires different yarn. I hate to invest in knitting books so I get them from the library and make copies of the ones I'm interested in.
Anyway just wanted to give out this information and hope someone can use it
