Want to try a beginner lace shawl

Any suggestions? I've looked on Ravelry and didn't see anything that immediately popped out at me. PLUS alot of the patterns that you have to purchase through Ravelry don't tell you if they are charted patterns or written pattern instructions. I prefer a written pattern - which actually lends itself to a beginner pattern anyway.

I have fingering weight yarn and would like to try a mini shawl pattern - something 500 yds or less (I have 510 yds of yarn). I know this so SO specific, but I thought I'd run it past y'all and see if anyone had any thoughts. Thanks in advance!!!

try this site-- 296 patterns for triangular shawls.. sorted by yardage.

some are little (scarves really!) some are huge (could be blankets!) Free patterns are Bold--

(my super simple lace shawl is there (and available free on ravelry too)

some are top down, some bottom up.... some easy (mine) some quite complex..something for everyone

With that kind of yardage you may also want to look at some of the scarf patterns. I did the Branching Out scarf from Knitty. It lets you dip your toe in the lace water and gives you a beautiful FO.

I am working on a shawl from "Shawls Two On the Go!" from Vogue Knitting. They have 2 shawls in there which would use fingering weight yarn - and they have both the written patterns and the charts, so you can choose which one you want to use. (I prefer the written ones, too.)
