If you are making this for a bigger child would your just make more rounds before you do the sleeves. I really like the look of the hood on the baby but it would probably not look that big on my two year old daughter, so I was thinking of doing a few more rounds maybe ten before doing the sleeves and then carrying on. What do you think, would it work.
Yes, that's exactly how you do it for the adult sweater or an older child. Knit until the diameter of the circle is the same as the measurement from shoulder to shoulder, then the sleeves begin.

Anyone else?
Is anyone else going to knit this? I think I'm going to knit one for myself! I'm not sure what color schemes I'm going to do yet, blues/greens something like that. I plan to get my yarn in the next 2 weeks or so.

Just wondered if anyone else might want to join me

Pinwheel Sweater
I just found this pattern on Ravelry and have started a baby sweater. I think it's the coolest pattern and would LOVE to make one for myself.

Danielle, did you knit one? How did it turn out?

Thanks,
Merry

Yeah, after 3-4 attempts at a sweater for my brand new GD, I finally remembered this one. She's on the large size, so this one is versatile in that she'll be able to wear it this spring, next fall and the spring after, I hopw.

I bought some yarn today and cast on this afternoon. I am making the smaller size and see how it goes for my daughter. She is three so it should still fit her for a while as she is smaller. I really want to see how it turns out and if I like it make one for myself at some point as well.

I am done the majority of the sweater already and on the sleeves. It is a really quick and easy knit. I found the loopy bind off to be very time consuming but I got it done. I did hers in three colors, Green, White, and Black. These are the colors of our local Football team in the CFL. I can't wait till I am finished and try it on her.

Ok I am done already. It was an easy knit when making the smallest size for my daughter. I will post pics later. What are people doing on the front are you putting a closure or just let it hang. I am thinking I may put a button on the front for my daughters sweater. Just wondering what others are doing or am I the only one knitting this sweater.

I'm making one for a new GD and will probably put a single button on the front somehow.

That is great - she looks so happy and I really like the sweater. I've been thinking about doing one for my daughter.
