Stitch Pattern Suggestion?
http://www.wildwestwoolies.com/files...e_20top_1_.pdf

I'd like to try making this, but she doesn't give much guidance about a stitch pattern to use. Anyone have any suggestions?

TIA

You can use your own stitch pattern as long as the st number fits into the number of stitches for your size. You can find many sts at knittingfool.com, knittingonthenet.com and at knittingpatterncentral.com that would work.

OMG!!! What an amazing pattern! I must make one, too! Thanks for sharing the link!

ETA: I would choose a stitch pattern that is just knits and purls; no ribbing or cables. A geometric with nice vertical or horizontal lines would be nice, because when you wear it, it would be on the diagonal, which would empasize the unique construction of this piece.

I would use a clean, crisp yarn that would make the knits and purls really pop out, in a solid or very subtlely varigated color. That way the yarn texture and color would play second fiddle to the construction, which is really the centerpiece of this item.

Have fun!

Thank you very much for the database links! I knew of KPC, but not the other two. Knittingfool is completely amazing! I had no idea there could possibly be so *many* knit stitches!! Unreal!

One more question: She recommended a stretchy yarn. The yarn name she listed actually has elastic in it. How necessary is that factor? Could I just use regular 100% cotton? The dishcloth kind? Would that be clean & crisp enough, do you think?
