KH April Knit-Along (KAL) or Crochet-Along (CAL)

Now that our "April Fools" KAL is over, we can get our REAL April knit-along going.

We're making HEADBANDS, HAIRBOWS, SCRUNCHIES, and other hair accessories.

Headbands can be sporty or stylish.

And hairbows are definitely "girlie".

I think this knit-along will be fun, because the projects will be quick, and can be used by males and females alike!

I'm even thinking of trying out some crochet patterns, because I haven't done that in a LONG time.

This is unfortunately only on Ravelry, but it's a 'double knit' headband. I've been wanting to try it for ages so hopefully I can get to it this month! Woo!

Maybe I should try a new knitting technique this month. I started a Fair-Isle headband at a class at SAFF* last year, and STILL haven't finished it!

Double knitting is another thing I haven't tried.

These small projects will be PERFECT for trying new things!

LOL, that's too funny. I hope I can make the KA/CA this month, I'm always dropping out but been dying to make a headband!

I think I'm going to join. I found several patterns that I'd like to try. Just need to weed through them and figure out what one I want to do.

I'd like to do one that incorporates a new to me technique. I'm thinking lace or entelac. I've seen several with cables as well. I did a bib once with a basic cable on it, but that was it. If they go quick enough then I may be able to do more than one and try them all!

I still can't believe I fell for the April Fool cap - silly silly girl. Since I can't 'get my feet wet' making waterproof socks with Sandy's yarn, I think I'll do this headband instead:

It will be a good one for me because I've only done a couple of cable swatches in my knitting class, but not an actual item, and I've never knitted from a chart. Plus, the pattern recommends bamboo yarn which I've been admiring at HL but had nothing to make with it. And it will be fun because I haven't done a KAL before, and wouldn't probably be doing this one if I hadn't been 'bamboozled' by the waterproof yarn - doh!

I feel the same way. I want to make a few of them in different colors. I also want to make some scrunchies. Those are SO easy!

I printed my chart and bought my yarn today. I forgot to check what size needles I'm going to need - hopefully I'll already have the right ones.
