Addi Circulars on Ebay
Has anyone had any luck with Addis on ebay? I have heard that there are many fakes out there, but I have also heard good things about these 2 sellers:

http://stores.ebay.com/Addi-needles-arpat-yarn-store

http://www.yarnworkshop.com/category...ng-Needles.htm

Any advice?

Thanks!

I've never bought Addis off of ebay, but one piece of advice. Make sure you check out the shipping charges.

I have bought lots of Addi's off ebay and never had a problem. I have LYS Addi's and ebay Addi's and canot tell the difference. So, if they are "fakes" as many claim they are very good fakes at a very good price.

Addi's are made in Germany.
Skacell has the exclusive rights to market them in US.

but anyone (outside US) can buy a bunch (while in europe or else where) and sell them (semi illegally) on Ebay.

its called 'grey market'

its not black market--because the goods are often the real thing.

but its quite legal either.

often the goods come with foriegn laguage packaging.. (not really a problem for knitting needles.)

but it there is a problem (and Addi's have a well deserve reputation for quality, but still there have been occational problems!) who do you return them too?
not your US distributor (cause you didn't get them from them) not to Addi's since they expect you to use the US distributor..

and the ebay seller? they sold them as is.. (if they were fine at time of purchase.. and its a manufactoring defect (not something they can control) they are off the hook.

there are some deals to be had buying grey market..
but as always--buyer beware!

Would you mind sharing some of the sellers you've bought from?

The last ones I bought were 2 pairs for $18.99 and free shipping. I have seen others listed where the shipping is $5-$8.

New to Knitting
This is to anyone out there who is just beginning to knit. I am hoping I am not too old to learn this art! The video's have been so useful. I am hoping that the frustration I am feeling in just getting started won't keep me from trying this art and enjoying it. My mom taught me when I was little- and I haven't done it for years (and I mean years)- I guess it just takes patience, and practice. if

Let me encourage you. I have been knitting a little over a month now and "quit" twice the first two weeks of my knitting because I got so frustrated. I did alot of praying and just decided I would not let it beat me. I tried going very slowly doing the stitches for the cast on, then the knit stitch, and then the purl stitch. When I finally got those going. I worked on a project with just those stitches. I didn't finish it because I wanted something more exciting. I tried baby booties which I did complete. They had some increases and decreases which I taught myslelf as I did them. They are not perfect, but I don't think they are supposed to be because I am a beginner. It is very cumbersome to begin with, but you will get it. Just hang in there.

Hello,

I'm Ingrid from Yarn Workshop. We offer full customer service on all Addi needles purchased from us, and source our needles direct from the authorised Hong Kong distributor for Addi. If anyone has any queries, I'm happy to answser them, and I also invite you to look at our feedback on Ebay.
