I need help
I'm just starting my first real project which is some socks and at the beginning of the instructions i had to k1p1 until a certain point now it says to knit in rounds, and i dont know what it that means. Do I start to just do a knit stitch or cont doing the k1p1.

Have you been knitting in the round up until this point?

If the instructions say something like "knit all rounds", then what you're doing is switching from knitting in ribbing to knitting in stockinette st (the outside of the sock will all be "V"s, and the inside will all be purl bumps).

Do the instructions come with a photo? If the socks look like this in the picture http://www.knitlist.com/97gift/menssocks.htm , then switch to knitting all the sts (instead of the K1P1 you've been doing). But if the picture looks like this: http://sarah-knits.blogspot.com/2006...le-double.html , then you need to keep doing the k1p1.

It might help if you could post a link to the pattern (if it's a free one) or type out a little of it here and tell us what you've done and where you're stuck. Then we can help you better, without giving you info you already have!
