looming knitting deadline
I have an afghan that I need to have done by June 2. And I have (optimistically) 40 inches left to do.

Anybody else have looming knitting deadlines?

Only in my own mnd!! I over plan, start too many projects at once and then decide I need to finish them all before I can start anythng new. Good luck with your afghan, I hope it is on big needles.

Oh man do I! I have to finish a baby blanket for my sister in law - her baby is due on THURSDAY! I found out that I am pregnant too, right after I started it last month and I have had morning sickness so bad that I haven't been able to work on it!! :-( It is starting to pass though, so hopefully it won't be too late!!

Good luck with your 40 inches!!!

I have one. Someone at work adopted a baby and they're going to do the baby shower on wednesday. I got two mitts done but I still got booties and a hat to do. I'd do a sweater but I'd have to make an IOU for that lol.

Good luck on your 40 inches in two days

Last summer, After a week of getting up before dawn to knit before going to work and staying up late I finally decided to wrap what I had done for a baby shower and after the shower took it home to finish I still did not get it done til the baby was two days old, but I was pleased with the finished project and I really don't think the baby will remember Auntie Katy was a little late with her blankie.

I'm knitting a baby blanket too. My cousin is due anytime in the next week (they didn't give an exact date) so i've been knitting in front of the tennis for the last couple of days. If baby comes this week it will not be finished, however, if baby is late it may just be done on time now I have finished exams. I did manage to get a baby jacket done tho so I don't think anyone will mind that the blanket is late.

I try not to worry too much about deadlines. If it's done, they get a finished item. If it's not done, they get it on the needles along with the pattern so they can see the finished item. Then I just take it back and give it to them again when it's finished.

If I'm trying to get it finished so it can be worn/used at an actual event, well then it just won't be worn/used. I rarely create these types of deadlines for myself.

No worries, no stress!
