...what to do with this

I was making a shawl for my brothers wedding, but I never finished in time (and it turned out to be a warm weekend so I didn't need it anyways!)

i was so close to being done!

now, do I finish it and never use it... or should i frog it and do something else with the red (i know, the pics kind of look orange, but its red!) yarn

You could always were it on a night out in the cooler months. It's too gorgeous to frog!

Gosh, finish it since you are so close. You could gift it or keep it handy for cool eves at home. It is really pretty.

I must respectfully disagree with the other answers. If you know you're not going to use it, by all means, use the yarn for something else.

I agree. It may be beautiful and you may be almost done. But if you know for a fact that you will never use it, I would use the yarn for something else that you would use. You would get much more enjoyment out of something you can use than finishing something just to have it sit there.

If you are sure you will never use it, frog. However, I would personally finish it - you can alway wrap it around yourself on a cool night, even if you are just at home!

My vote is to finish it. It's a lovely red. It's been beautifully done.
What about it being a Christmas present for someone - or for you at Christmas?
Someone would really appreciate the loveliness of this scarf.

It looks great so far, finish it if there's a chance you'll wear it or can gift it. But if you know it'll never be used, frog it and use the yarn for something that will be. It's ultimately your call.

It's very pretty and I love the color. I would just continue on finishing it.

On another note...and this is probably a stupid question...but what do you mean when you say 'frog it'?
