Julie, WHEW! Glad you side-stepped a bad teacher!

Well, I got the downstairs vacuumed and the floors mopped. No knitting tonight. My hands are too tired! Plus I have vocal practice at church tonight.

Carey, where did you go on your cruises? What ships were you on?

My break is over. Time to put the rugs back down and get dinner started.

Hey, I know all of you are really good about adding people to your prayers: My coworker and her entire family could REALLY use some. Her one daughter has a brain tumor (which may be a type which does not need operated on, but still). Her other daughter is waiting to find out if she has breast cancer. And her son shattered a mirror with his fist and then tried to kill himself in her kitchen. The hospital took care of his hand (he cut it breaking the mirror) but apparently did not consider the suicide attempt to be an issue (long story short he IS getting help from elsewhere but everyone is extremely angry at the hospital for not offering help at the time). She's worried about her husband's health for a couple of different reasons, and on top of all of this, the funeral home called her house to ask if she and her husband were interested in discussing planning what they want for their (eventual) funeral. Which, yes, it is a good idea to have a plan in place. But, no, this was not the ideal week for the funeral home to be soliciting business. Needless to say, her husband has an appointment for plenty of tests just in case.
Why is it that sometimes it seems like every possible bad thing happens to the same people? The suicide attempt is the end product of an apparently very long list of issues, most recently including having his wife miscarry within a week or two of when they could have probably saved the baby.
It makes me appreciate even more the things that are going right in my life.

And to end on a happy note: Did I mention I got the quilt top done? I took it to the 4th of July and showed it to Amanda and Rusty. Both of them assured me it was great, and Rusty specified that it was not too feminine.
I'm looking forward to Missouri, when I'll only have one job and I'll have time to do some other crafts (though I'm thinking of taking something to try hand-piecing).

Hope everyone has a great day!

Emily, your coworker and family are in my prayers! Good heavens, each of those events would be hard to endure individually; I can't imagine having them all piled on at once like that.

Gina, we went on a Norwegian cruise for our honeymoon- it went from Galveston to Cancun, Cozumel & Honduras. Then a couple of years ago I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise with my girl friend- also from Galveston, to Jamaica, Cancun and Cozumel. An Alaskan cruise is on my to-do list! My same girl friend later went on a Carnival cruise and she didn't like it at all. One of the (many) great things about cruising is that you get to see several different locations, but you only have to unpack once!

Jess you co-workers are in my prayers.

I am a firm believer that God never gives us more than we can handle, but, some times I wish she would give some notice and instructions.
