Need cast on for sweater without ribbing

I'm starting a kimono sweater. It doesn't have a ribbing, you cast on and start the pattern. Just wondering what cast on technique would be good.
Any ideas?

I generally just use the long tail cast on.

Different cast-ons are good for different things -- some are very stretchy, some can be decorative, some are firm...what do you have in mind for the edge of this garment? Are you going to go back and pick up stitches? Do you have a link to the pattern?

I use long tail for most of mine, the other is cable CO. Both have a firm edge and can be stretchy if you don't do them tight.
