working increases/decreases into a seed stitch pattern
I am knitting a pair of booties in seed stitch. The directions say "Work in seed st and inc one st at each end of next and every foll alt row until there are 32 sts, work all increase sts in seed st to keep continuity of pattern. Dec one st at each end of next and every foll alt row until 22 sts rem." When I attempt this, I always end up with a ribbed effect instead of the seed stitch. If you are knitting or purling two together to dec, how do you follow the seed st pattern (ie is the next stitch a knit or a purl?) I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!
