Re-sizing shawl question
I have found a shawl pattern that I would like to make as a Christmas gift for a friend...the finished measurements on the shawl are 32" x 62". That sounds great for me at 5'11", but no so good for the recipient who is 4' 7". Any thoughts or suggestions on what a good finished size would be ?

Is it triangular, circular....? The pattern name would be helpful too, then we can make suggestions on how to make it smaller if necessary.

It is triangular - it is a random pattern I found in my stash so it is nothing specific/no name. I know how to resize it to make it smaller, just wondering if anyone on here had any thoughts on what a good final size would be for a woman under 5ft tall.

Rule of thumb is wingspan....which normally equals height. So about 55 inches across would be good. .
