Hi everyone. My name is Mary Ann and I have been knitting since I was in junior high which is approximately 35 years. Wow, that's...a long time I guess. Ha,ha. I'll be sure to come when ever I need help or a knitting fix.

hello
hello to all,

My name is James, I am a newbie, and new to knitting , when i was a kid I used to watch my aunty knitting in the corner for hours on end.

now I have decided to take it up. I have been knitting the past week well , if you call it knitting with knots and holes more than i can count , i would also like to know if there are many men at this as i would like to here form them , just to place my mind at rest

Also i would like to know for starting off what is the best size knitting needles to use. i have 7MM,5MM,2.5MM,and 5MM circular knitting pin and a set of sock knit pins ( if anyone can tell me what these are for? i would be great full)
and finally a crochet hook 5MM

Many thanks

James Carpenter

Excited to stumble across this site
Hello, everyone!
I would like to say first of all, my Grandmother Carrie Taylor introduced me to crocheting at a young age. I learned basic granny squares. I didn't do much with it, even though I really enjoyed it. She never got the opportunity to show me how to knit. After watching a few of the videos, I was attracted. I am anxious to purchase some knitting needles to give it a try. Is there anything I need to know about them, before I buy them?
Looking forward to any replies. Thanks.

Taylor (this is my maiden name)

I'm back.
Hello to all, both new and old friends. After a long hiatus, I've picked up my needles again and started to knit once again. Don't know really why I stopped, but it doesn't really make too much of a difference now. Anyway, I'm back and I'll be posting more often.

Yeah, James, I know how that goes, my family did the same thing, until I had knitted a few things for them, now they constantly pester me about new stuff they want. Though if they give you a lot of graft, then point out that Rosey Grier did quite a bit of needlework.

I can't remember when or how I discovered KnittingHelp, but I love it and recommend it to anyone who could learn more about knitting. (Isn't that everyone???)

I also recommend buying the CD-ROM. Cheap at twice the price. Loads faster and you always have it available, internet access or no.

I haven't signed up for the forum before, so hang on and here we go!
