Need help understanding this technique
I need some help understanding these 2 techiniques below as described in Elizabeth of York pattern by Alice Starmore.
I knit a combination of Western and Eastern movements if that makes a difference.

Is there a video about this ? It is called Piques also in the pattern.
I hope the picture will show here. Here we go:

Thank you for your time.

For some reason it doesn't show:-(

K -make knot thus- (k1, p1) twice into same st, then sl the first 3 sts made over the last st made.

O *p2 then sl these 2 sts back to left needle purlwise, with yarn at front, bring yarn across front of the 2sts and around to back, then sl the 2 sts back to right needle purlwise; bring yarn across back of sts to front; rep from*

Thank you.

This - "(k1, p1) twice into same st, then sl the first 3 sts made over the last st made." gives you 4 sts on the right needle. Slip the first 3 over the one that's closest to the tip, so you end up with only 1 st, not an increase.

The other one - "*p2 then sl these 2 sts back to left needle purlwise, with yarn at front, bring yarn across front of the 2sts and around to back, then sl the 2 sts back to right needle purlwise; bring yarn across back of sts to front; rep from*"
Purl 2 sts and put them back on the left needle. Then wrap them by bringing the yarn across the front of them (to the right) and around to the back, and slip them back to the right needle. Then bring the yarn to the front to purl the next 2 sts and do it again.

Thank you so much Sue! I do not have a lot of experience with knitting so your help is very much appreciated.
