Jacob is sick. When he got home I knew he wasn't ok and I asked him what was wrong he said he thought he had a fever & sure enough, 101.8F. He's currently in his room watching a dvd. I moved our tv & dvd player into his room from ours so that he can keep his germs in 1 room. Of course he was probably contagious 2 days ago, so guess we'll see who comes down with it next. it's not swine. Called the ped. and they said the kids they're seeing for swine have fevers of 103-104 and are vomiting, and have coughs and their bodys ache. Well he's had a cough for 2 weeks (tomorrow) and it's sounding more bronchial now than before, so we'll see how the night goes, we may be going to the doc tomorrow. Guess what I'll be thinking about in class tonight? Nope not skeletal muscles. dang it.

UPS just brought my spinning wheel!
glad I was home because he just droped it under the coverd porch, and rang the bell and left. It's raining. The box is heavily marked Ashford & has a sticker on it saying exactly what's in it. Anyone who knows anything could have taken that right off the porch, kinda aggrivating. Dh (who works for Fed Ex) just said that doesn't surprise him because of the rainy weather.
whatever. I'm glad it's here & I'm here for 1 hour before having to eat and go to class.

Hey y'all!

Well, I got my test results back yesterday. I have a pretty bad case of Vitamin D deficiency. Apparently, it is pretty common but few doctors test for it. So, I'm on a VERY high dose of prescription strength Vitamin D for six weeks. I hope it starts kicking in soon.
I'm tired of feeling soooo tired and blah.

I'm STILL working on my FLS. I'm about halfway done with the first sleeve. I thought people on Ravelry said this was a quick knit? I want to finish so I can start on Christmas gifts. I don't want to be knitting up to the last minute like I did last year. I think that I'm going to knit Fiber Trends felted clogs. My new lys has Cascade 220 on sale for $4.

I really don't like Halloween. I didn't like it as a child and I don't like it as a adult. Thankfully, my dh feels the same way. Every year we go out to dinner on Halloween and then sneak back in the house. We turn out all the lights and watch TV in the bedroom. Our house is pitch dark and kids still ring our doorbell every year.
Teenagers...

Gina: How is packing coming along? Have you picked out flooring yet? Hope it works out that you and Julie get to meet. How fun!

Julie: How is Jacob feeling? Glad that you were home when your wheel arrived- that would have ticked me off. Oh, and yay for Katie for being a big girl!

Chris: How is the kilt coming along? I would love to see a pic of it.

Carey: Yay on the dryer! How is the weather down there? Cold and rainy?

Dustina: Hope your grandfather is feeling better. Good luck on the game on Saturday!

Hello Lisa, Jackie, Ann, Sue, Christine, Rachel and everyone else!

I'm teaching knitting today and tomorrow. Probably one of the reasons my FLS isn't done....

Good Afternoon Socksters!

I got distracted early this morning yesterday we started having those October beetles but they are so bad over here...so I called a few n'bors and they said yeah it happens when they cut the corn and there isn't much you can do with them...if you squash them they stink, if you spray them they leave a trail on your wall/siding...so I've been getting them with the vacuum cleaner they are driving me crazy...plus I'm trying to get the house together for mom on Friday...

JD took off from work yesterday and took me to a little town not far from here..we window shopped and had a nice lunch together. It was so nice spending the whole day with just him.

I also wanted to start my Christmas shopping but Kmart didn't have what I needed so the lady told me you could lay-a-way on line...I haven't found it to work well on the Kmart's website today but Sears website is working pretty good...

Julie~YAY on the wheel and Katie using the potty ...keeping the kids in my prayers that they feel better soon

Courtney~hope you feel better soon! I think the clogs would be great gifts, I need to start my knitting too...

Chris~I say knitting is easier 'cause I know how to fix it

I talked to my grandfather last night he was a bit confused...which I figured he seems to get confused more when they move him around...he went from the assisted living, to the hospital, and now back to the nursing home...so he isn't to sure where he is...

I hope you guys have a great day of knitting...I need to go sweep up more beetles, fix a bite to eat, clean some, and then take the kids to dance...no church tonight they are having their holiday bazaar there tonight...

Dustina~I sucked up a ton of those beetles too last night with my vacuum. They seem to be mostly on the west side of our house were the sun hits in the afternoons. Your right, they do stink if you squish them. Nice to have a date with JD! Good thought still for your grandpa.

Julie~ for your wheel! Hope the kiddies feel better soon and it doesn't run through everyone in your house.

Courtney~Glad they figured out what was going on with you. At least they know what to treat you for. Hate when they have to guess.

Chris~I would rather frog knitting than sewing. I do not sew very well, so lots of frogging goes on when I do.

Christine, Susan and Ann~Hope you all are having the nice weather like we are and that you are all doing well!

Hi to everyone! Not much happening here.Took Max to his first puppy obedience training class last night. He did pretty well. We now have homework to practice for next week. DD is all settled in her new apartment but is now having "sticker shock" on all the extra expenses she has. Also said she liked it better at home when the "laundry and dinner fairy" visited. Much nicer to come home from work, have all your clothes clean and folded on your bed and dinner ready. I told her she just needs to get into a routine and she will do fine. Just takes time.

Have a great one!!

Julie, YAY for Katie! YAY for your wheel! YAY that you might be pregnant! Lots of YAYs for you! HOpe the kids are well soon. Stay healthy yourself!

Dustina, we rarely paid school picture prices. JC Penney usually did ours. They always had coupons so it cost around $10.

Chris, hope the seam ripping isn't too extensive. Good luck!

Courtney, my DH had low vit. D, too. Hope you feel better soon. My FLS is taking forever, too, but it's on hold b/c of fit issues. That and I'm too busy!

Lisa, are the beetles stink bugs? We see those on the tomato plants, but not in the house. Your comments about your DD made me smile.

I've been sorting the files in DH's office. He's out of town, so now's my chance. He tends to file EVERYTHING and rarely purges. I've got two HUGE bins full of paper to recycle and one for shredding. And I'm not done yet! Thankfully, recycling gets picked up tomorrow and he gets home Friday, so he won't be able to take anything back out.

Gina~they're not stink bugs. Those smell worse! These look like ladybugs, but aren't. they are some other type of beetle. We seem to get them worse once it gets cold and then warms up again. Don't you love purging all that paper! No sense moving it if you really don't have to.

Gina if you haven't seen or missed it in the last 2 years (most say a year, but I will always need something after I toss it) then get rid of it! We have a ton of stuff too, I would love to just rid the house of all kinds of things...my Dh is a 'keeper' of everything, that's why I toss lots of stuff before he comes home.

update on Jacob,
not much of one but we've had him tested for H1N1 & now we wait...

I did get some good studying done today & made a pot of chicken rice soup & a loaf of bread is baking now! smells good. The rain has stopped & Dh wants me to lysol the house

hi
morning,

is gonna be end of October soon but the weather is still as hot and humid (34deg), getting worse at night - not a slight of wind as the heat that bouced out from wall that that is facing the hot afternoon sun, even though i put up the curtain to block bright light, used to be cooler by this time of the year.
Me too, at lost of what to include in the mini sock swap this is different than the usual secret pal swaps !! Wont it be nice just to receive a wee tiny mini sock in the package

for those who has cool weather now.

ARe YOU ?? --- (Julie, YAY for Katie! YAY for your wheel! YAY that you might be pregnant! Lots of YAYs for you! HOpe the kids are well soon. Stay healthy yourself!)

Dustina - Have u try eating the Black Apple ? Cant wait to see how Roo's room is like.
Gina - love the 4" shorties. Feel great when i knit the mini sock swap.
