Good Morning Socksters!!

It is cold here today! Roo might be right this time on her I "smell snow"...our cows some how got into the barn so I had the fun of getting them out today...they had gotten into everything

A little sad/frustrated/annoyed today...ya'll know about Roo and her tea party for the 5th of Dec...well she is just so excited and everything has been bought...and I had talked to the other parents of the other 3 girls even back in October...so I knew we would have 4 for the tea party...handed out the invites and found out a misunderstanding had occurred and one of the girls b-day party is that day too! Well all 3 girls are related so right now its just gonna be Roo, me, and mom...she will be so hurt. JD is trying to get something together for it to get more kids there...but I'm thinking maybe of changing it to the 6th and see if that would mean the other 3 girls could come...I spent last night so upset and crying...just don't want Roo to be disappointed on her very first birthday party...she fits in more with the boys so she doesn't have many girl friends at school...so its limited on how many she will ask to come...JD is so thoughtful though he let me have my cry and then said I'll take care of it even if I have to rent a circus for that day

Knit2btied and Dotty~so good to see ya posting! Hope you two are doing good

Going to go clean for tomorrow...I'm excited about cooking for Thanksgiving that is very rare

Hi to everyone hope you guys are doing good and we miss hearing from you all!!

hope you all have a wonderful day of knitting

Dustina it will all work out for the better, put it in God's hands and let Him take over.

Dotty I know she's HUGE! There is only 2 lbs difference between the girls and a few inches.

Yesterday I was on the phone with my Dad in the living room while the girls were eating lunch in the dining room and then I smelled chocolate, wierd. So I got off the phone and went into the kitchen to find LOTS of smoke and Katie on the counter and some very charred smokey brownies in the toaster oven, then the smoke alarm went off. Needless to say the toaster oven has yet to be plugged in again.

I also got my grade back on that exam 3 from last Thurs. & I didn't pass, I got a 62 on it after the curve. I was crushed. I studied my butt off for that dang exam & didn't flip out during it and I felt good about it. So I averaged all my scores from tests and 2 quizzes and I have a 73% in the class right now. The final is on Dec. 10th and I"m praying class is canceled because of a HUGE snow storm, if I dont pass the final I'm screwed.

Pecan Pie

1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell

1 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. dark corn syrup
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. pecans (chopped or whole, your choice)
Bring sugar & syrup to a boil, then simmer for 2 or 3 min.,
stirring constantly. Remove from heat & SLOWLY pour
hot syrup into eggs, stirring as you do so. Stir in butter.
Stir in vanilla & pecans. Pour into pie shell. Put on bottom rack
in oven. Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hr. (until center no
longer "moves when jiggled"). Check pie after 1 hr. & if it's getting
pretty brown, cover with a foil "tent". If not, check every 15 min.

Anna said to bake all pies at 325 instead of 350 and to bake
longer than the recipe says....IF using 325 degrees.....also, bake
them on the bottom oven rack.

(Anna is Grandma's sis & she bakes the best pies)

Well that would work too, I guess, but wouldn't sound quite as romantic! LOL

Going out for turkey.

May everyone's turkey be juicy and there be lots of left over for turkey sandwiches.

For those outside the US enjoy today may your knitting be flawless.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Julie, I won't be eating turkey. I don't like turkey. But, I'm sure I'll be having some honey baked ham!

We are actually having Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow at my aunt's house so everyone can be there.

Today will be spent knitting and baking for tomorrow. And I'm sure a football game will be on....
