Julie, it sounds like you've had a pretty crappy day. Sorry!
As for Dell, I'd ask them to give you the warranty for your trouble. Keep going up the chain? As for going wireless, you need to have a modem connected to your cable and connect that to a wireless router. They're $40-60. If your laptop has wireless, you should be good to go. If not, you'll need a wireless card. The cable company will charge you for setting it up, but it's really easy to do on your own.
Bummer on your Owl sweater. Can you just frog back to where you switched sizes and re-knit the rest, adding more shaping?
Hi to the rest of you! Hope you had a great weekend!

Julie I would try for the free warranty. cite the aggravation and ask if they believe that they do such a lousy job of refurbishment computers that the "new" PC that it will not last a year?
If you have a wireless router then you have wireless capability. Why do or do you want the desktop to be wireless? A wired connection to the router will be faster than a wirless connection. If you have the desktop wired to the router but still have to use wireless my first step would be to see if you have the desktop set to either connect to the wireless first or have the wired connection to the router turned off.
What operation systems are you using, Vista, XP other?

Hi
A little something different... DH is having his 62nd birthday this year, and as a matter of fact it is on Thursday. He had some tests the doctor wanted done, so we took a hotel room last night and again tonight so he would be in the town the tests are done at in the mornings. The super plus for him is that the tests are being done in the town his children all reside in, so we have had two of them visit yesterday and the other one is visiting today. He is one happy man today!!!
We will be back home on Tuesday afternoon and YES we do have Boots with us. He is quite enjoying all the attention.
See you tomorrow!

Thanks Chris and Gina, I'll call back today and see if I can get the free waranty for all of my inconvienence (sp?). I doubt it.
Chris currently I have the cable modem hooked up to the wireless router and the wireless router hooked up to the laptop with the laptop wireless card in it, that's the only way I could get it online...wierd. We originaly had the cable modem hooked up to the wireless router and the desktop (vista) and then had a wireless card in the laptop, it worked better at getting online than the desktop. (laptop is xp) For some reason the desktop wouldn't always get online, like there was a bad connection or something. What I'd like to do is (eventually) get rid of the desktop and just have a couple laptops or 1 laptop and 1 netbook and have them both feed off the wireless router. Can that be done without having a desktop hooked up to a wireless router?
Well today is the last day I have before AP2 classes start tomorrow morning (8:30-10:50 Tues and Thurs and a lab on Saturday mornings) so I desperatly need to get off the pc and get the laundry done, house decluttered and cleaned up after the weekend. Since Jacob has to be at school at 9am and I have to leave the house for my class at 8 my Mom is comming up tomorrow to take him to class and then watch the girls for me, after that my FIL should be free to do it, since my Mom still works and he's retired. He's just out of town this week so she said she'd do it. But she did have to find another nurse to cover for her tomorrow. I'm so blessed that I have family and friends to cover for me and watch my kids while I get my education. God bless 'em.
Christine tell Frank we said Happy Birthday! Glad Boots likes the hotel and the attention, enjoy the kiddos. hugs.
Gina how's Emmelyn doing? Has she talked to you since her Dallas trip?
Finished Katie's mittens last night and will make Bailey some tonight and tomorrow night I finally get to go back to knitnight! I'm so excited, I really missed that.

This can be done. When first setting up the router and for some updates it may be easier to have a PC or laptop hard wired. Normal day to day operations should be no problem totally wireless.

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to pop in and say hello and tell you I'm still around! I am a bad poster and I have no excuse. I hope I'm not banned because not posting is worse than not knitting socks.
I'll come by and write a longer post soon. Nothing big going on with us. Still looking for a house and still working lots. Hope you're all doing well, I think of you guys all the time!

Julie, I wonder if the wireless card isn't working? We only have laptops in the house and none of them are connected to the router. All wireless. Works great! Be sure you don't split the cable multiple times (for TVs) before it gets to the modem. It will seriously degrade your signal.
Did you get all your stuff done? Good luck on your class. I'm sure you'll do GREAT!!!
Emmelyn hasn't said anything about their relationship. She seems content and talks to Amit every evening, but I don't hear much about it. I feel like he doesn't want her to talk to us. (Can you see the red flag?)
Christine, how nice to get to go to a hotel and enjoy time with Frank. Tell him happy birthday! Enjoy your time!

Workers came today! They built supports for the tub, ripped out the moldy wood that didn't dry with the dehumidifier and replaced it. They also painted over all the mold stains with Kilz. It almost smells CLEAN in the bathroom! I've posted a bunch of pics on Facebook, but I'll re-size one and put it here, too. ETA: This pic is BEFORE they put the KILZ on.

Hey all!
I had my first day of classes today. Also, my first day TAing. My first lab (TAing) was not very good, but the second one ran much more smoothly. I got started setting up my desk in my Lab, and met a couple of the others who are in the same room.
In other news, the computer end of my computer charger cord is dying (OK, I may have accidentally killed it. My old computer survived being dropped repeatedly... this one, the cord plugs into the back, so it slid off my bed and knocked the connection). I wonder if I could get just that little piece replaced... but I'm guessing not.

Excited!!!
I got a letter this morning inviting me to an interview for the teaching course I want to do from September. I've been waiting for this letter for the last month and was beginning to think it wouldn't come. I'm excited! Terrified, but excited. I hope the maths test isn't too hard.
Still nothing from work, if they want me next Tuesday they will be out of luck.
Yay!
